Broken Rib Scarf

A finished object finally!

A birthday scarf for Jack.

Used: 4 balls of Debbie Bliss Merino Chunky
Needles: 6.5mm Brittany birch (lovely)

Pattern: 1×1 broken rib (k1,p1 on one row, knit all on the next row)

This was a quick and fun knit. The yarn is really thick and warm and soft and springy, and before blocking the scarf was really thick – perhaps a bit too thick. If it was for me I would have left it, but I wanted it to be a bit wider for the intended recipient, so I blocked it, which thinned it out quite a bit – much better.

  1. That’s a lovely scarf! Just to say I’m having a ‘knitting lunch hour’ tomorrow to break up the relentless Cinderella boning !?! malarkey that I’m chained to at the mo. The very wonderful and talented Helen is going to help me out with my cable and rib. It’ll be good to get the needles back into clickity clack action, been too long already. Lovely sock heal too, and nice deserts admired from afar with a rumble of the tum. x
