Sometimes there’s only one thing to do…

I’m supposed to be in London right now, looking round museums, and drinking tea and eating cake with one of my favourite people to drink tea and eat cake with.

I’m not though. I’m still in Dublin, cleaning the apartment, doing the washing, and trying to work out why my car battery has suddenly died.

D’s sick, too sick to travel. A trip down the road to the video shop last night (by car) was a big challenge. It’s the flu, nothing he won’t get over, but travelling to the airport, on the plane, on a train and a tube the other end would have been too much.

So we’re here instead.

I made myself feel better by eating a massive amount of junk food last night, and knitting on the sofa with my blanket on my knees.

Now I have more chores to do, and I need to go and see if jump starting the car helps.

  2. Oh no!!! I hope D is feeling better soon. No kissing…that’s the rule in our house when someone’s sick. It was a very long two weeks w/o a kiss while I had some bronchial bug recently! Good luck!

  3. Poor Isobel, I’m sorry to hear you had to postpone your trip, but also good wishes to D and hope he will be better soon. Nothing like a trashy food binge to make you feel a bit better. Your sweater is looking great too, and it seems like you have plenty of time at the moment to knit on.

  4. Hope that D gets better soon - and that you resist the urge to treat him like a pariah by avoiding kissing and wearing a mask.
