Yes and I had a snigger when I was waiting at a red light to take a left, and a car in front of me took that left turn as if it was green (it was green to go straight on), and first had to stop for the pedestrians crossing, as that was the reason for the red light, and then as I went around the corner after it turned green, to see her pulled in by the traffic guards. Snigger snigger snigger…tee hee

heheh. nice one Issy.
It always makes me smile to see the mercs and beemers who have been driving in the bus lane getting pulled over just before Donnybrook.
Although it’s not just drivers. The other morning a guy on ROLLERBLADES was using the bus lane. It got very hairy when we got to donnybrook village, I thought the bus was gonna go right up his ass.

I walk quicker that the autodrivers on Snugborough Road at times, and oh boy does that make me want to laugh! I wouldn’t know how to comment the junctions etc. as I don’t drive but I agree that Dublin traffic is just terrible.

Boy oh boy, Isobel, you’ve hit upon some good ones there! And may I add to your list please?

When traveling down the Ballymun Road toward the city centre in morning rush hour and you decide to get into the right, fast moving lane to jump the car queue, don’t at the last minute snarl traffic by sitting at a dead stop to merge into the slower left lane at Griffith Avenue because there is a another queue of cars behind you waiting not so patiently to continue on their journey in the right lane.

Grrr….

Sounds like you’re enjoying your new life of driving to work, eh? Nothing like riding the bus or some other mass transit, I’m sure.

Jodi: They do pull you over for that in California. And we mock them, yes, we mock them.

This all sounds quite familiar. Chicago traffic is similar except for two things:

1) I have no idea what a yellow box junction is, but I don’t think we have them.

2) The police never pull anyone over for things like driving in the bus lane.
