Poor Neglected Sock
Ahh, the sock. I’m at the heel flap, and have been there for over a week. Bad sock knitter. Bad.
I became obsessed with lace, and the sock simply wouldn’t cut it. The lace is finished now though, and before I cast on for another lace project I’m going to at least get the heel flap finished and the heel turned ready for more round and round stockingette. I’m deviating from the pattern very slightly to use a heel stitch on the heel flap, and it’s great – it’s a bit tighter to knit, but it’s producing a thicker, padded fabric which’ll hopefully extend the life of the socks a little.
The shawlette is blocking, pics will come when it’s good and dry.

But you like neglecting projects, don’t you? You said a while back that you were only really happy when you had like 10 different projects to work on … and that you weren’t going to torture yourself for not finishing them, or for having too many.
Is there a mate to this sock, or are you doing two on one set of needles?

Looks good so far. What yarn is it you’re using?

David – but I usually work on them all – sometimes three different projects in one evening as the mood take me.

Ahhh. Lana Grossa. Love that stuff! Costs a fortune over here, but it’s just fabulous.

Nice sock, you ‘bad sock knitter’! The only other yarn I’ve got in-stash for the next set of socks is pure wool, so I’m thinking I’m going to have to do a similar padded heel and toe to keep it from wearing too soon. I’ll be on to ya to ask how you did it, when the time comes!
