Secret Pal Goodness

Posted by Teaandcakes on Feb 05 2007 | Swaps and Exchanges

Two very exciting packages arrived today. One I’ll tell you all about tomorrow, but first, here’s my Secret Pal 9 package!

What a package - it was enormous.
I opened it up to some lovely fabric with teacups and pots on, and some knit picks dpns.

Inside was sooooo much lovely yarn:

3 skeins of knitpicks shadow, a laceweight merino wool
Some absolutely divine mountain colours mountain goat yarn in the mountain twilight colourway (lots of mountains)
2 large skeins of wool dyed by my spoiler in a Spring Garden colourway. So clever!

Also, (deep breath) some lovely purple fabric, patterns for bags and accessories (perfect, as I have some purple cord I want to make into a bag, and now I have a pattern!, some teapot buttons (so cute!), very useful place marking in pattern post its, two types of tea (mmmm), sweet hearts, some luscious vanilla soap, some recipes, a really cool pad for the teapot to rest on that has cloves inside to make the room smell nice, and 2 wonderful books - Knitting Without Tears by Elizabeth Zimmerman, which I’ve wanted for a while now, and Vegan Cupcakes, which is so absolutely perfect it’s almost not true. No eggs! But Cakes!

Phew. Breathe out now.

What a wonderful package that was! I’m really lucky and feel very spoiled. My spoiler was BJ from BJ’s Musings and Meanderings. Thank you BJ!

  1. Well that would sure cheer up anyone who’d been sick-on-the-sofa!

  2. I’m certain that you’ll enjoy knitting without tears. Unlike so many others, she’s actually readable!

    Hope you’re well soon.

  3. Glad the box made it across the ocean - I’ve been checking frequently, even when I’ve known the mail couldn’t have arrived in the interval.

The _Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World_ was the bit I was waiting on, but it seemed so right that I decided it was worth holding up the rest of the package for it ;-)

And what knitter can resist tea from a company named Stash?

  4. Both books are excellent - I’m loving EZ’s style. I’ve sampled a few things from Vegan with a vengence, a cookbook by the same people as the cupcake book, and they’ve been fantastic - I’m looking forward to making some cupcakes.
