Crochet Attempt

Posted by Teaandcakes on Nov 02 2006 | General Ramblings

Today I went to the Dublin knitting and stitching show. I was very sensible with my purchases, and there’s only one I can actually blog (later).

Anyway, I took a Crochet lesson, as I’d like to have a craft I can do on a plane.

I discovered that I shouldn’t swap my pointy sticks for a hook any time soon. It just didn’t really come naturally to me. I shall practice though, and hopefully eventually produce something a lot better than the tangled mess you see in the picture.

I agree, I keep getting my fingers in a twist when I pick up one of those hooks. Can’t get the tension right.

Then I watch me ma do it and she shames me. Maybe you had to live through the 60s/early 70s to be able to crochet?

    Just a thought.

  3. Keep practicing, I am certain that you will progress and perfect your technique faster than you think.

  4. re: crochet – it will get easier…just stick with it. I learned to crochet many years before I learned to knit. Crocheting lace is WAY easier than knitting it…;)
