Knitted Picnic

So, this year’s Electric Picnic festival is going to be great. “Why?” I hear you ask. “Is it because of all the fabulous bands?”
“No”, I reply, “It’s because there will be knitters.”

That’s right, the knitted picnic is coming to the electric picnic. Work is underway to produce the picnic food, but the call is out for squares for a picnic blanket. We’re looking for 10 inch squares – weight, colour, yarn type doesn’t matter, just that it’s 10 inches square and something you’d be proud to display. The resulting blanket will be donated to charity once the festival is over.

During the festival we’ll be teaching interested people how to knit. The area we’ll be in (The Big Tree) is a non-profit, eco-awareness type deal, so the aim is for people to be able to knit a peace flag of some sort. It doesn’t have to be an actual peace flag, just that they’ve taken the time to sit and knit and contemplate.

Anyway, if you’d like to know a bit more pop a note in the comments and I’ll email you back.

  3. I’m simply overcome with jealousy. Pet Shop Boys?? Groove Armada?? Knitting lessons??

I’m only forced to attempt to invent a finger-snapping technique that sends me right over to the Green Country via teleporting.

    Sigh.
