Yep. It’s a tea strainer that fits into the spout of the teapot, as demonstrated below:
This teapot has quite a small spout, so it’s quite a snug fit.
It works!
I’m really impressed with this – it worked really well and is a clever idea. A fab tea gadget.

Do you know what- I HAVE seen it somewhere before. can’t remember where tho, the old age is definately creeping up on me
