Almost sock

Posted by on May 01 2006 | Crafty things

Here we have my first sock attempt. I’m pretty pleased with it. I need to work on picking up stitches, and I’m still not mad on knitting in the round with dpns, but it’s going ok. It’s also kinda addictive – I just want to keep on going. Hopefully I’ll still feel that way when it comes to starting on sock number two. Obviously I still need to finish sock number one first.
I’m not sure I’m mad about the colours, but I’m using this as a training sock, so it doesn’t really matter too much.

Very ambitious for first sock attempt. I maybe would have started with baby booties but I am very impressed. Must remember not to put them on a hot wash!

  2. Not really ambitious – magic self patterning sock yarn!
I don’t know anyone having babies so it seemed silly to start with booties. Especially when my feet are freezing most of the time.
I did too much at once though and now my hand kinda hurts so I’m taking a sock break and making other stuff.

  3. Socks look good Isobel!! I’m sure you have almost finished the first one by now, cast on IMMEDIATELY for the second, that way you may avoid sss (second sock syndrome)
