Broken hot water bottle
I’m away at the moment. I brought my hot water bottle with me as hotels are usually too cold. I filled it up and popped it under the covers to where my feet would be. I then pulled back the bedspread. A damp patch was rapidly forming on the blanket. My hot water bottle had a hole. Bugger. There’s now a massive damp patch on the bed. Thankfully my room has 2. Some of the others have a bed and a sofa, or just the one bed. I’m just hoping it’ll dry by the morning. There’s only one thing to do now of course: buy a new hot water bottle and some lovely cosy yarn and knit myself a cover. Might be a good chance to learn to cable.
I’m shocked that there are people using water bottles for something other than smuggling booze into a sporting event.

Gosh! That’s quite a big hole. It must have caused a rather large wet patch.
I’ve had hot water bottles leak in my bed at home which is frustrating, but if it were to happen away from home, I think I would be more embarrassed than annoyed. I really don’t know what I would have done. Whether to simply take the offending bottle home with me and say nothing,or to confess the next morning to the room service girl. How did you deal with your situation?

I took my hot water bottle with me to a hotel once - I had it in bed with me but left it there next morning!
I realised I had forgotten to bring it home with me too late!
I bought another one and take more care now!
